The History of Tile

Masonry is one of the oldest trades in history. Clay tiles have been around for thousands of years. They were used in the pyramids, in ancient Babylon, and in Greek cities. Ceramic tiles were made out of clay that could be found in riverbeds. They were often decorative and used to add beauty to a room or area.

The Spanish conquistadors brought decorative tiles with them to North America, and now tile is seen everywhere, from homes to churches to many other historic buildings. Tile is a beautiful and unique way to cover a floor or to decorate a wall.
